Feeling Fowl?

I am hoping that you and your loved ones are staying healthy this first month of 2015. I am just getting over bronchitis, and almost everyone at my work has missed a day due to illness of their own or of their children. We have had Influenza A and B, RSV, and Whooping Cough going around in my co-workers families, and ten percent of the workforce was missing one day this past week!

If you do know someone that is ill, a sure way to cheer them up is to send them a handmade card using this adorable, just-released Sweet Perks Bundle stamp set with dies by DT member Diane, called Get Well Critters:

I chose that cute fat little chicken with the sore wing for my card today, and added the matching "Feeling Fowl?" sentiment. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored in using Copic markers.
Stay healthy -- take your Vitamin C, and if you get sick, make some chicken soup! Oh--- don't tell my little chick about that part....... have a great week!

Sweet 'n Quick!

I appreciate my close friends so much. Even if we aren't able to get together often, it's as if we were just together when we do. We pick up right where we left off. This week I was able to catch up with two of them, after having not seen them for about 2 months! It was really fun. So I wanted to make a thank you card that was "sweet 'n quick" to send each of them.

I chose images from Sweet Sarah, one of the January releases at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps:
I stamped with VersaFine ink on Kraft, and then colored in using my Prismacolor pencils. I don't get those out very often, but I do like the result on Kraft cardstock! I added a strip of Sweet Girl designer paper (Echo Park) at the top, and added ribbon and twine (Really Reasonable Ribbon) to tie the design all together. A little piercing for added interest, and it's all sweet 'n quick!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to join in our Release Day Challenge. You have until January 15th at midnight EST to enter!

Got the Winter Blues?

I am thrilled to be joining the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Design Divas as of January 1! Today is my first official post. A big thanks to Korin and the rest of the team for the warm welcome!

Got the Winter Blues? I do, as today I return home after several wonderful days in Utah and a late Christmas and New Year's celebration with my whole family. They all live so far away, so I don't get to see them often enough. So nothing better to chase away those blues than my favorite shades of pink and an adorable cup of snowman from Snowman Soup!
This is one of my favorite SNSS stamp sets, and has such adorable images and sentiments for holiday wishes, as well as all winter long! Take a look:
  • Stamp set includes 7 images and 8 sentiments
  • Set measures approximately 6" x 4"
  • The large snowman image measures approximately 2" x 2 1/2"
  • Designed by Diane Zechman
So -- Winter Blues? Get in the pink and remember that each day is getting longer and longer. More time to stamp!

This Friday is Release Day at SNSS, and I will have two projects to show you with brand new stamp sets!
