Delightfully Doodlelicious.....Being a Diva, that is!

This is my second post for today.  CLICK HERE or scroll down for my i {heart} papers post and the chance to win a $10 gift certificate!

My second announcement today is that Melyssa Connelly has asked me to join her at Whimsie Doodles and become a Doodlelicious Diva! I love Melyssa's artwork -- as you might remember she designed the stamp set that I helped design the concept for when I won the MOABH at There She Goes two years ago. I simple LOVE everything she draws! So I was thrilled to join her Design Team at Whimsie Doodles!
I chose the cute little Bookworm for my image today and paired it with The Grade School Stack DP from DCWV. A little twine and some giant ric rac and Bookworm is ready to take notes at school!

The rest of the new team is bursting with excitement to show you what they have made today, so hop on over to Nikki's blog and see what she has to share! You are sure to love it!

Here is the complete list of the Divas so you can hop to them all!

Announcing..........!!

I am so pleased to make TWO announcements today - and this is the first! Stayed tuned later today for the second!
My wonderful friend Kate of i {heart} papers has asked me to take a spot on her Design Team and I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted! You can read all about it on her blog! In fact, she has a fun little contest going on through the weekend for the opportunity to win some blingy bling from Zva! BUT before you head over there, I hope you will take a look at my project today and see what you could win from ME! I have some yummy blog candy - a $10 i {heart} papers gift certificate - to give away to one lucky reader of this post!  Keep on reading to see how you can win!

My card today features one of Flourishes new stamp sets: With Gratitude. I love cone flowers, and this set is perfect for several seasons of the year, depending on how it's colored! I got out my Prismacolor pencils and made some deliciously purple cone flowers.
The image is stamped on X-Press Copic Blending Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used some Authentique designer paper and cut a frame out of it using a Spellbinders die. The designer paper was then layered on top of the stamped image panel. I added some gorgeous White Crepe Ribbon for a finishing touch.
Now, for the blog candy! To be eligible to win the $10 IHP gift certificate, just leave a comment on this post by Wednesday, September 5 at noon EST. Those who are followers of my new Facebook page (Joy in a JAR) will have two entries (just head over there and click "like"!). I will choose a random winner and post that name here on Thursday!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be bringing all sorts of goodies from the IHP Store here every week to share with you!

My Last Post with the Deconstructed Sketch Girls

It has been a wonderful summer being the Guest Designer at The Deconstructed Sketch. I want to thank Jen Shults for asking me to be a part of such a talented and amazing team of artists this summer! I enjoyed every minute. This is my last post with the Descontructed Sketch Girls! They have colored my world with their artistic gifts this summer!
I used two images from Unity's August 2012 Kit of the Month for my card. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in using Copic markers.
The cute paper is from Echo Park's new Everyday Eclectic collection. My twine is Aqua Baker's Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The Deconstructed Sketch girls have some terrific samples to show, so be sure to have a visit at their blogs too!

I stamped my images once (Floral #4), and then again without reinking. Take a look at today's sketch:

What a Week!

Summer Lovin' --- had me a BLAST! I just got back from a wonderful surprise trip from my husband to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We spent a week in New England and just got back! And just in time for today's Deconstructed Sketch!
I flipped the sketch and used some of my favorite summery papers - On the Sunny Side (MME) and Sidewalks (October Afternoon).

I have a lot of catching up to do, and school starts TODAY -- plus I want to share some of my travel adventures with you later this week. So have a great day and I hope to see you right back here tomorrow!

I Love Pretty Papers!

Today's Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge honors Ceal Pritchett as FS287. Ceal has a lovely gallery that fits both the styles of CAS and lots of layers! I chose this lovely card to case.
I kept her layout and theme, but changed images and papers, and left off the flower and stitching. I added pearls to my die cut frame. I really like the look of red, black and kraft together and the papers in Teresa Collins' World Traveler DP pack were just perfect for those colors!
I used a Spellbinders die cut (Fancy Tags Three) and cut two of them out of black cardstock, then added them to each side of the sentiment rectangle. It gives the sentiment such an elegant look!

Stamps: Inscribed by Stampabilities
Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Teresa Collins World Traveler DP
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black
Accessories: Kaiser Pewter pearls, Spellbinders Long Rectangle and Fancy Tags Three die cuts, distressing tool

Altered Comfort

Today I wanted to share a fun and easy gift box. This is a little box that I altered from a paper mache round container. I covered the outside with paper, using Scor-Tape to adhere the paper to the box.
I added lace trims and crinkled seam binding, along with pearl pin embellishments.
The paper ephemera is by K & Co. The lace trims I have had in my stash for awhile and the seam binding was purchased in an Etsy Shop.
The sentiment is from a Kit of the Month by Unity Stamp Co. I stamped on the designer paper, then cut out using Spellbinders Classic Heart dies.

I love baths with yummy scents, candles, and music - low lights - a little glass of something refreshing - and serenity kicks in! Pleasurable for all the senses!

This is a little gift set I made my my in-college daughter!

Stamps: May 2010 Store KOTM by Unity
Paper: Bo Bunny DP, Kraft
Ink: Blue Bayou, Antique Linen and Spun Sugar Distress
Accessories: crinkled seam binding (French Market), journaling tags and ephemera (K & Co.), Pretties kit (SU!), lace trims, Spellbinders heart dies, pearls (Kaiser and Basic Grey)

It's Sketch Time!

Today's Deconstructed Sketch 63 has all sorts of possibilities! Take a peek:
I ain't lion - this is a CUTE digital image (Lion) available at I Brake for Stamps HERE. I love the look on his face. You never know what he might be thinking! I printed my image on Georgia Pacific White cardstock and then colored in using Copic markers. My designer papers are from My Mind's Eye, DCWV, and Authentique. They all went together pretty well!

The sentiment is from one of Kim Hughes' Cornish Heritage Farms sets. My trims are from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

At I Brake For Challenges (sponsored by I Brake For Stamps), we have an easy challenge for this month and I hope you will check that out too. CLICK HERE.
