Soap and Stockings

Holiday Stockings
It's officially the Christmas season at my house now that Thanksgiving is over (I hope you had a wonderful day!), and I am ready to hang up the stockings! My card today is made with the Holiday Stockings set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. I chose these soaps for my inspiration. I took the colors and expanded them and used the angles for my layout.

The stamped panel is cut with deckle scissors and then sponged with Encore Metallic Gold ink. I then embossed with Ranger Gold Tinsel EP.  I added Diamond Stickles to the whole wreath, but it's hard to pick up in the photo. Click on the photo for a close-up, or click HERE for a detailed supply list and instructions on how to make this card.

Are You Dragon? It's Paper Romance Challenge Day!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my USA friends!

Hope you aren't draggin' (or dragon!) after a wonderful meal! I am on my way to my father-in-law's memorial service in Arizona.  It will be a wonderful celebration of his life, with lots and lots of family. Hope your day is filled with blessings too!

Gavin' The Givin' Dragon is ready to give some gifts and blessings to someone! It's Cindy's Challenge Day over at Paper Romance and she has challenged us to use a tag on our cards.  I used a Sizzix tag, and embossed it with one of my Cuttlebug folders.  Gavin' is stamped with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and then colored in with Copics and Spica Glitter pens.

I love this rainbow colored ric rac by Coat's and wanted to incorporate that (and some twisted embroidery thread) in my card.  My designer paper is from The Paper Studio. Be sure to check out the Paper Romance Challenge blog to see what some of the other PR gals have done with tags!  Play along and you might win a PR gift certificate!

Rudolph, Come Home With Me and Help Me With My New DT!

Isn't he just the cutest? I want to take him home with me! Not sure my two labs would appreciate that....

I made this for today's SCS Featured Stamper Challenge 198 - LOVE LOVE Sarah's gallery. I could case all day long! But this is the one I chose. I kept her layout and theme, but changed colors, images and ribbon placement. I glittered up his nose for some sparkle! Click on the picture for a close-up. My image is from a set called Holiday Squares, available at I Brake For Stamps.

I am proud to say that this is my first upload for my new DT gig with I Brake For Stamps! LOVE their stuff! I am honored to be working with such an awesome team! Thank you Della and Chris for your faith in me!

I'm Melting . . .

Yes, you may have thought from the title that this would be the Wicked Witch of the West....(my daughter just played that role in her HS musical!).....but it's my poor little snowman who needs a bit more cold.

It's plenty cold for me, and I wear a lot of scarves from fall-spring. I loved both of these:
Blue and White Crocheted Scarf and Purple Vertical Stripe Crochet Scarf.
I love to crochet and used them for my inspiration colors for the Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge.

My snowman and snowflake image are from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Gothic Snow Stamp Set. Such a whimsical set! The snowflake is stamped with Encore Metallic Silver ink and then embossed with Ice Rink Embossing Powder. The melting snow is colored with a Blue Frost Copic and then I added Crystal Ice Glitter to the "puddle."

And here is a picture of my beautiful Wicked Witch! She graduates in May and will be leaving the nest for bigger and better stages!

Stamps: Gothic Snow by Sparkle N Sprinkle
Paper: Soft Suede, Lavender Lace, PTI White, Basic Grey DP, stash DP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Blue Frost Copic marker, Spica Glitter Pens
Accessories: dotted grosgrain ribbon, snowflake, paper piercer, corner rounder, snowflake sticker
Techniques: embossing, faux stitching

Believe in......Gingerbread Men!

I love the smell of warm gingerbread baking in my oven.  This little stamp set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry makes me want to get in my kitchen and have it smelling like yumminess!
I made this yesterday for the Splitcoast Ways To Use It Challenge: Basically Beautiful Brown . . .

I used Rubber Stamp Tapestry's Old Fashioned Gingerbread Fabric Stamp Set for my wreath and Believe/Dream/Peace Designer Block Prints for my sentiment.

First I sponged in a wreath shape with my ink, and then added each little stamp one by one. I added a row of little pearls underneath the bronze metallic embossed panel. The buttons and candy canes have Diamond Stickles on them. I love this little Gingerbread set! It was made for stamping on fabric.  If you haven't been to Susan's (RST owner) blog to see what she does with quilt blocks, you are missing out.  Her cards are simply stunning! Take a peek today and you might win a RST set!

Stamps: Old Fashioned Gingerbread Fabric Stamp Set & Believe/Dream/Peace Designer Block Prints (Rubber Stamp Tapestry)
Paper: Close to Cocoa, RHR, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, K & Co. DP, Bronze Metallic
Ink: VersaColor Cardinal, Bark, Green Tea, Encore Metallic Gold
Accessories: Champagne pearls (Kaiser), ticket corner punch, Prima flowers, Cuttlebug EF

Today Is Challenge Day at Paper Romance! And I am delighted to say that it is my first challenge as a new Design Team member!  I am honored to be part of such a talented group of stampers! My challenge for you today is to use "your favorite things" on your card.  One of my favorite things are giraffes, and I just love High Hopes' Stretch! I also love velvet ribbon and my Cuttlebug!

I stamped my image with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and then colored him in with Copics. I added a little Spica Glitter pen to his spots.  The designer paper is by Sassafras, and the leaves are a Sizzix die.

I hope you can play! You could be the winner of a $5.00 gift certificate to Paper Romance by playing along with us. Link your card on THIS POST by next Wednesday night!

By the Inch

I made this for SCS Featured Stamper Challenge 197. Congratulations to Angela! I LOVE her work. She had so many cards to choose from, but I chose this one to case.

I kept her basic layout and theme, but changed images, papers, dew drop placement, and substituted a border punch for the banners and buttons. I added ribbon and heated it with my heat gun.

My images are from Sparkle N Sprinkle's Sweet Treats set. I love this stamp set - it is so versatile for birthdays, valentines, weddings and anniversaries!

I stamped my image on three Inchies (Inchie Arts) with Opera Pink VersaColor ink, then embossed with Amour EP. Then I added Bubble Gum Glitter to the ice cream. All available at Sparkle N Sprinkle. Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps: Sweet Treats by SNS
Paper: DP by The Paper Studio, Lavender Lace (SU!), White (PTI)

A Circle of Life: Death, Wedding, Birth and all about Love

Don't bittersweet times seem to happen frequently? The past few weeks have been rather emotional for my family.

On October 25, my new sweet little second cousin, Macy, arrived in Boulder, weighing 7 lbs. 8 oz. She is a doll! Congrats Cory and Mary!

After a long battle with aphasia and alzheimers, my father-in-law, Wesley Rozema,  passed away on October 30.  The week before he had celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary and 80th birthday.  A man of great wisdom and love for his family, he will be sorely missed. His memorial service will be in Arizona the weekend after Thanksgiving.  All the family will be there; we haven't all been together since the 50th wedding anniversary celebration.  Kids, grandkids, and even great-grandkids now will celebrate and remember his life.

And finally a week later, my son, Steven, was married to a beautiful bride, my new daughter-in-law, Rachel, on November 6, in North Carolina.  It was a beautiful fall day, and the wedding was everything they had hoped for. They just returned from their Jamaican honeymoon yesterday.  Here is a little peek of their beautiful pictures:

So some bittersweet days to be sure. But one thing I know, it's all about Love and love of family.
Give yours a hug today and say
"ME LOVE YOU."

My card is made with images by Hambo Stamps, and the paper is by My Mind's Eye. I thought it would make a super cute Valentine! Or just a card to tell your loved one what they probably don't hear enough.

Enjoy your day!

(Look for my Unity Blog Candy tomorrow - today got away from me!)
