Harvest Blessings

Today's Ways To Use It Challenge 241 called us to use patchwork in our designs. I chose a simple nine grid patchwork, stamping the four corners, and using K & Co. Que Sera Sera designer paper for the other squares. I ran each section through the Cuttlebug using the Herringbone embossing folder.

I used Verve's Harvest Blessings, and stamped each leaf with Kaleidacolor Late November ink. I sponged the edges with Papertrey Ink's Chai and Chamomile Distress ink, then layered on VersaColor Pinecone and Paprika. The wreath was stamped with Pumpkin Pie, and before stamping I added Old Olive and Summer Sun to the mix. Diamond Stickles accent the wreath. The sentiment is stamped with VersaColor Pinecone.

Background layers are Memory Box Twlight designer paper. I added brads and organdy ribbon, which I heated to curl - all done!

I think my mojo left with the leaves on the trees last week -- it's been a whole week since I stamped~ changing of seasons or something, I guess! Thanks for taking a peek~

Paper: Memory Box and K & Co. DP, Very Vanilla, More Mustard
Ink: Kaleidacolor November, VersaColor Pinecone, Old Olive, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, PTI Chai and Chamomile Distress Ink

I Love New Stamps.....and So Will You!

Hambo Stamps has got some FUN new stuff just released for Autumn!
Check out all the new designs HERE.

From now until Wednesday, October 14 (tomorrow), 5:00 PM CST,
I am holding a contest to see if you can guess my
favorite new Hambo release!

Post your guess here, and if you are right, you win that new image from me!
FUN stuff there!

Here is a card I made for last Friday's SCS Limited Supplies Challenge. My friend Wendy was the hostess and she challenged us to use just paper, ink, and stamps.
NO embellishments! Can you imagine? :)
Well, here is what I came up with:

Sometimes the paper is so cool, you hardly need any stamps! The LSC Challenge was perfect to show off this really cool new Basic Grey DP called Eerie and one of my Hambo Stamps sentiments called Halloween Definition, and let the paper do the rest!
This card is a standard A2 size.

Ok, so now I'm going to go put some fibers through that sentiment tag! (Sorry, Wendy! LOL)

And for a REALLY AWESOME Hambo card, check out what my friend Holly did with her One and Done Auction win HERE. It is so so CUTE! (And don't miss the pics of her new stamp room!) The next One and Done Auction is this Thursday! You won't want to miss it!

And if you are looking to win more Hambo, check out the current sketch challenge at Hogs & Sketches, our sketch challenge blog!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

We Got Snow!

My friend Deb is in Hawaii this week. She is welcoming home her son, who has been in Iraq for the last year. His sisters, mom and dad all went over for awhile to help his wife of a year and a half welcome him home. Last Sunday, as I was wishing her well, she says to me, "I hope it snows while we are gone. Then I can appreciate the weather more." It had been a beautiful fall up to that point.

Today Deb got what she wanted, and boy, will she hear about it! :)
It started snowing just about the time the football game was over last night, and my daughter came home after marching the halftime show. It snowed all night and most of the morning. We don't have a lot of it, but it's THERE. And NOT in Hawaii! In fact, right now, it's 28 degrees in my back yard and 82 in Hawaii. Hmmmm.......

Tonight my daughter's high school band marches in an out-of-town field competition. Their time on the field is 9:45 p.m. I hope those trumpet players know about lips and vaseline and metal -- My daughter plays the baby bass drum.

When I was about five years old (and we had metal ice trays with a big handle on the top - I know some of you will remember those) I thought it would be cool to lick the ice tray out of the freezer -- it would be like a popsicle. NOT. It's a good thing tongues heal. And I am thankful for plastic ice trays!

To celebrate today's Nebraska snow, and 82 degrees in Hawaii, here is a card I made using one of the new September 16 Chicken Girl Design Stamps releases. Take a sneak peek (click on the photo for a close-up to see the scored background!):

Jannie Ho designed this set, and if you are not familiar with her work, you MUST check out her blog. She has the most delightful illustrations in children's books, not to mention a lot of other cool stuff on her blog. AND she has two new stamp sets coming out on the 16th, carried exclusively by i {heart} papers. I love these sets, and I know you will too!

My little polar bear has just tossed his first snowball of the season and he is ready for more! He has Diamond Stickles on his hat, feet (he is standing in snow, of course), and the snowball. Designer paper is Eskimo Kisses by Basic Grey, also available at IHP. I LOVE this paper!

Be sure to check out these team members' blogs this week for more peeks at this darling sets!

Friday Friends With Flair and New Stamps!

For SCS Ways To Use It Challenge 239: Around the World ~

My son will graduate from college in May and my daughter next May from high school, so we are planning a family trip to Europe to celebrate! One of the places in our top three choices is Italy. It was my favorite country in Europe the last time I went (a looooong time ago), and I would love to go back - especially to Tuscany!

So here is my Around the World card! I have been waiting to use some of my Debbie Mumm Travel Stack paper and this was a perfect challenge for it! My sentiment is from Unity's Everday Adorable and the cut out trees are from Tiny Trinity. This card is 5.25" square.

Visit the Unity blog to see the list of participating blogs in the hop today and what Friends With Flair is all about. You might win some Unity!

Tomorrow begins Sneak Peeks of the new Chicken Girl Design Stamps. There are two new CUTE holiday sets being released this month and I will have peeks this week for you right here! CGDS are carried exclusively by

More Kraft Love

Here is another card I made on Tuesday for several challenges:

SCS Color Challenge 239: Mellow Moss, Kraft, White
Verve's VLVOCT01: With A {Twist} of Shabby (sketch)
Verve's Product Parade Challenge: Encouraging Words

There is a Mellow Moss Nestabilities layer behind the Kraft Pinking Circle that I sponged with Craft White ink (like the Kraft Pinking Circle). I love the new Dewfrost DP from Memory Box! It has such wonderful designs for winter and some for any occasion.

My flower medallion is stamped on Kraft with Craft White ink three times, and then layered for dimension. I did faux stitching with my paper piercer and white gel pen for a subtle look.

I hope you have a great day!

Oh - for you musical fans, my husband is playing Scrooge and my daughter will be the Ghost of Christmas Past, so I am excited for them -- and for us, that we will get to work together on a show!

A Happy Birthday and Goodbye ---

Happy Birthday to Kelley Holland! Kelley is the owner of Our Daily Bread designs. The Bread Basket Design Team has some fun birthday cards for Kelley today, so check them out!
*Angella* *Angie* *Chris* *Connie* *Dawn* *Deb* *Debi* *Grace* *Lorelie* *Sandee* *Silke*

Here is the card I made to celebrate Kelley's birthday. I used May God Hold You, one of my favorite ODBD sets.

I have had the pleasure and opportunity to work with so many wonderful women on the ODBD team, but today is my last post as part of the Bread Basket. I am stepping down from the team to free up my schedule a bit for my family. I have so appreciated the wonderful scripture verses and images that Kelley carries, and I have loved getting to know the women (both ODBD alums and current Breadsticks!) that have been a part of the team with me!

This Irish blessing is for Kelley's birthday, but also for all of my team member friends as well! I wish them all God's blessings and thank Kelley for the wonderful opportunity I had to be a part of her company!

Ahhhhhhh...........Kraft!!

No, I am not talking about Mac and Cheese -- although I do like that! I am talking about KRAFT paper! LOVE that! I go through a lot of it -- my favorite brands are PaperTrey Ink and Stampin' Up!

Today's SCS Color Challenge was to use Mellow Moss, any White, and KRAFT!
Here is what I came up with:

I stamped my image in Craft White ink, and then embossed with White Embossing Powder. The corners are pierced with an Ornare template. I added pearls to the poinsettia middles as well.
What do you think?

This week I am holding auditions for "A Christmas Carol: The Musical" (How many things are called "Fill in the Blank: The Musical"?? It's funny to me!). Anyway, it is the show based, of course, on Dickens' traditional story, and it is so much fun! It is a great musical to show your family -- it was made into a Hallmark movie starring Kelsey Grammer. I tell you though -- remember Jason Alexander (George from Seinfeld???)? You should hear him sing Marley's ghost's song, "Link By Link." WOW! I never knew he could sing! Anyway, I am excited about this show -- it should be a lot of fun and my daughter and husband are trying out! More on this later this week!!

Have a great day!! I intend to! :)

Stamps: Gifts of Christmas (SU)
Paper: Kraft, Mellow Moss, unknown DP
Ink: Craft White
Accessories: Nestabilities Labels, White EP, moss grosgrain ribbon, white satin trimmed organdy ribbon, Hero Arts pearls, Ornare piercing template

FrankenKitty

Here is my submission for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge 200. When I saw THIS WALLET, I immediately thought of this designer paper I had, and decided to make a Halloween card. The brad says "Boo!"

Images, ink, and Nestabilities are from Happy Halloween by Chicken Girl Design Stamps, available at i {heart} papers.

Today we are off to a marching band competition about 2 1/2 hours away. Our daughter is a junior and plays the baby bass drum! It is going to be a perfect day for it - a great crisp, fall day! MUCH better than yesterday's 50 mph winds we had for two days!

And on a side note - however it is definitely not a side thought - some of you know that my dad has been very ill for several weeks and was in the hospital. He is back at the nursing home now, but on thrice weekly dialysis treatments that are hard. I just wanted to mention that, because I have taken a leave of absence from some of the teams I am on, and wanted to let you know why you wouldn't be seeing some of those designs from me in October. To those that have sent notes to me, thanks for your concern and prayers! :)

Stamps: Happy Halloween (CGDS)
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, Whisper White, LSS DP
Ink: Palette Noir Black, C-1, C-3, C-5 Copics, Old Olive (collar)
Accessories: Nestabilities, orange grosgrain ribbon, black brads, Halloween brad

Beginning Thursday, October 1, Hambo Stamps will be share the "One and Done" day. This will be a silent auction event!

Each Thursday, Tim will offer a one-of-a-kind digital drawing. The drawing will be posted in the morning, and as soon as it's posted, the bidding will begin. Bidding starts at 1¢. To bid, you simply enter your bid total in the comments section of that particular blog post. There are no set increments, though each bid must be higher than the one before it.

Copyright for the image follows the same policy as the rest of Hambo's digital designs.

Bidding will continue until 10:00 pm (EST). The comments are time-stamped, so the last comment left at exactly 10:00 pm or before will be the winner, and will pay the price that was bid, via Paypal or money order.

Peace Hope Love and Being Uncomfortable!

This card is totally out of my comfort zone and out of the box for me - a card with few layers and lots of white space! Something I rarely, rarely do! I made it for SCS Ways To Use It Challenge 237: Out of the Box and for Color Challenge 238: Pretty in Pink, Going Gray, Sage Shadow.

I stamped my sentiment in Basic Gray ink, then mounted it on a layer run through my Cuttlebug using the Textile folder. The flower was colored with Pretty in Pink and Sage Shadow markers. There are Diamond Stickles on the flower seeds.

There are three scored lines (Scor-Pal) at the bottom - the middle one has the silver beads, and there is one scored line across the top above the ribbon. (Click on the photo to see this better!)

I like it, but it sure isn't my usual fare!

Thanks for stopping by!

Here a Gobble, There a Gobble!

Nope, not turkeys - yet!

For SCS Inspiration Challenge 199 - The Pajama Squid

Isn't that an awesome site name? They had such fun stuff - wish my kids were still little, as I liked a lot of their things - especially the giraffes! May have to get a couple of those anyway.

But today I didn't make a giraffe card - I loved this little finger puppet kit with monsters and was inspired to use Silly Monsters, a Jannie Ho Chicken Girl design carried exclusively by i {heart} papers. Aren't the little "bites" out of the sentiment cute?

Lime Rickey DP, matching glazed brads and Spellbinders Nestabilities available at IHP as well!

Thanks for looking and have a monster of a day (in a good way, of course!)!

I am off to a parade downtown where my daughter is marching with her high school band. It is a beautiful fall day - perfect for a parade!

Out of the Box

For SCS Ways To Use It Challenge 237 . . .
We were to do something Out of the Box - different with our style, or something else.

I am not even sure what my stamping style is to do something different that way, so I decided to do a different fold. I always just do regular folds, so my "out of the box" is a different fold.

Stamps are by Our Daily Bread designs from two September releases: Get Well and Thinking of You.

The inside sentiment says "Thinking about you in my heart; remembering you in my prayers."

I used Kraft paper for my base, and then K & Co.'s Madeline DP. My images are stamped with VersaFine Sepia ink - it matches perfectly!

Thanks for stopping by today! What is "out of the box" for you?

Stamps: Thinking of You and Get Well (ODBD)
Paper: Madeline DP (K & Co.), Kraft
Ink: VersaFine Sepia
Accessories: pink pearls, pink organdy ribbon

Lovin' RED!

Here is a card I made a couple of weeks ago for a SCS Color Challenge. The colors were Real Red, Kraft, and Chocolate Chip. I sure am loving red right now!

I started with this beautiful "Meadow" designer paper by Michelle Coleman for Fancy Pants and went from there!

I frayed the edges of my satin ribbon and distressed the cardstock with PTI Chai Distressing Ink.
The top flower is white, and I used Camomille Ink (PTI) on that to match the DP.

One of my favorite color combos!

Have a great day!

Stamps: Three Little Words, Baroque Motifs (SU!)
Paper: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, DP by Fancy Pants
Ink: RHR, Chocolate Chip, Chai Distressing Ink (PTI)
Accessories: Prima flowers, chipboard heart, chocolate chip satin ribbon, brown brad, scallop scissors, sewing machine

Kraft + Anything = Love

I so love Kraft paper. It just goes with anything! Today I used Basic Black, Real Red, and Whisper White with Kraft. Take a look:

I made this for SCS Featured Stamper Challenge 136 . . .

Congratulations to SHANNAN!! Shannan has SUCH a marvelous gallery -- so many are in my favorites, but I finally chose THIS ONE.

I kept her colors, layout and theme, but changed images, number of embellishments, Cuttlebug folder, left off the background stamping, and added a Spellbinders flourish. This is a standard A2 card.

Images are from the September release Doodles 2 - Thinking of You by Our Daily Bread designs. Thanks for stopping by today!!

Two Sneak Peeks!

Today I want to share two sneak peeks with you - one from a brand new stamp company! Both of these cards were inspired by today's SCS Inspiration Challenge 197.

My Rockin' Frog is from Totally Stampalicious, a new company owned by my friend, Joycelyn Turner, and her friend, Rebecca Kuhne. Joy asked several of us to help her in her company launch and release, and I am happy to do that! This set, along with three others, will be available for purchase on September 15th.

I chose this tye-dyed guitar tee for my inspiration. I used alcohol, felt, and two reinkers to make the Polished Stone background for my frog. I should have added MUCH more Mellow Moss!

My son turns 21 in November and I made this card for him. Can you see why?

Please check out the blogs and galleries of the other talented stampers who are helping launch Totally Stampalicious over the next few days. They have some great designs to share with you!

My next project is a one-panel card, with the ghost image from Silly Monsters, a new September 16 release by Chicken Girl Design Stamps, exclusively available at i {heart} papers. I wanted to show a close-up of this one so you could see the textured paper and the ribbon loops better:

I chose this cute kids' outfit: Boo Lettuce Edge Tee and Spin Art Pants for my inspiration for this Halloween card.

Thanks for stopping by today to see these peeks!
